the "Treehouse"

The "Treehouse" is a proposed single family home to be built around the Monterrey Cyprus on the edge of the parcel at 3929 19th Street.  The entire concept of this home depends on the tree remaining a living portion of the home's design.  The contractor, Paul Dawson of  Dawson & Clinton sent a letter to all of us on the block requesting support for this unique project on our street.

On 8 November, four of the neighbors met with Paul and architect Jeff Burris on the building site.  We discussed at length the proposed structure and the few concerns that we had as neighbors.  The architect has provided a set of working drawings for our website for all to review:
You can visit the General Contractor's website at www.dawson-clinton.com and see the nature and quality of other projects that this contractor has done.

The The public hearing for the granting of the required variance is currently scheduled to Wednesday, 12 December 2007.  You may write the Zoning Administrator, Larry Badiner, with a letter of support if you feel this project will be a welcome addition to our neighborhood. You can see a sample letter in PDF format or in DOC format. You may also appear in person at the hearing at the time and location as posted on the bulding site.
